Steps for Wearing a Corset
Steps for Wearing a Corset
Steps for Wearing a CorsetThe first time you wear a corset, you may find it confusing. Following is a step by step guide for Corsets that have 2 sets of laces on the back: 1. Loosen the laces so there is enough slack to wrap the corset around your waist. Make sure the label is at the top. 2. Hook the eyes in the front, starting with the 2nd eye and working your way down. When you reach the bottom, go back and hook the top eye last. 3. Remove slack in the lacing by pulling the llops located in the center of the corset. (This is where the lace does not criss-cross). 4. Now start tightening then 2nd from the top X and work your way down to the center. Repeat step 3. Then start tightening the 2nd from the bottom X working your way back up to the center. Repeat step 3. 5. Pull the center laces to tighten the corset and remove slack. Repeat set 4 until you've reached your desired fit. 6. Finally, tie the middle lace in a bow.
To Remove Corset: 1. Untie the bow and loosen the laces so there is not pressure on the hooks. 2. Unhook the eyes, starting from the bottom and ending at the top. Then remove. NOTE: Do Not try to remove the corset without loosening the lacing. This can damage the corset.
Tips: Pantyhose: Avoid wearing pantyhose under your corset. They will be nearly impossible to pull down when the corset is laced tight. Try thigh-high stockings or a garterbelt. Bra: Corsets tend to push you up, so bra straps will be looser and may fall down. Either adjust your straps or try a strapless bra. Tops: While any style may be worn, thinner materials will work best under a corset. Pants: If wearing pants or jeans, low rise will be easier to remove. The pants will also be more flattering if they fit snugly at the hips. Skirts: Fuller skirts will help accentuate the hourglass look, while straight skirts will render a more slimming appearance.
Relacing a Corset
Some of the corsets we carry are laced with 7 yards of lacing. To replace, bring the lace underneath at the top and come up through the first set of grommets. Make three sets of crossed X's. The middle set of grommets will be used to form the loops for pulling and tightening your corset. Continue to make 3 more sets of crossed X's. You should end up with the lacing going over and ending beneath the corset. 1. Coming in from the back, pull the string through the top holes. 2. Crate a criss cross pattern until you have 3 X's. 3. Once you reach the 7th hole, you'll simply go down one instead of across. This is where all the slack is pulled to and your bow will be tied. 4. Repeat step 2 5. Tie a knot. NOTE: Overbust corsets are laced the same way as underbust corsets. If you have a long waist you may achieve more of an hour glass figure by moving your loops from step 3 down a set. Instead of using the 7th hole, use the 9th hole. The opposite is true for shorter waists. Moving the loops up a set to the 5th hole will create more of an hour glass figure.
